KC current make history in debuting their first match in CPKC stadium. The very first stadium built specifically for a woman’s soccer team. Not only a memorable day in the history books of kansas city, but in the world too. Starting off the season with a very strong track record, the 2024 KC current team are on track to become the most lethal offensive team in the entire NWSL.

First half was underway with Chicago breaking the ice and scoring the first goal of the match only five minutes in. Although not a productive first half offensively, KC current had showed some strengths in their defense by goalkeeper Adrianna Franch blocking mutiple incoming shots from Chicago. It’s safe to say that the second half did not disappoint, within the 50th minute KC Current’s offense finally showed themselves and scored both an equalizer and a second goal just five minutes right after. However Chicago responded by scoring the equalizer in the very last minute of the game, leaving the score 2-2
